People

Marek Góra

Professor at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH); teacher of macroeconomics, pension economics, labour economics and economic policy for graduate and Ph.D. students. During his academic career he conducted research at the London School of Economics and at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. Author of various articles in the fields of pension economics, labour economics, unemployment, labour market policies as well as macro and microeconomic problems of the transition period in the Central and Eastern Europe.

Member of several international organizations, such as the European Economic Association and the European Association of Labour Economists (member of the Executive Committee 1990-1997).

Co-author of the project of pension reform in Poland and a leader of team of experts who worked on the reform. Previously Director of the Commissioner Office for Social Security Reform.

Jakub Growiec

Ph.D. in Economics at Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium. Research assistant at the Institute of Econometrics at the Warsaw School of Economics. Author of a number of scientific articles within the area of economic growth theory, production functionality theory, human capital economics and income distribution. His publications have come out in several renowned economic periodicals, e.g. in "Economic Theory", "Economics Letters", "Journal of the European Economic Association", "International Journal of Economic Theory" and "Topics in Macroeconomics".

Iga Magda

Ph.D. in Economics, Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics I at the Warsaw School of Economics, participated in research visits at the University of Essex and University College London. Prior to joining IBS, she worked at the Polish Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, where she carried out and supervised labour market analyses. Author and co-author of publications in the field of labour market and foreign trade.

Piotr Bartkiewicz

Graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics (Quantitative Methods in Economics), student at  the Warsaw School of Economics (Economics) and at Warsaw University (Mathematics); associate of Institute for Assistance and Decision Analysis at Warsaw School of Economics; interested in international economics and econometric modeling of time series.

Magdalena Bober

Graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics; interested in the labour market issues and development economy; engaged in the "Employment in Poland" project.

Horacy Dębowski

Ph.D. candidate at the Faculty of Economic Sociology of Warsaw School of Economics; expert of the Educational Research Institute; in his scientific work he deals with industrial relations content and education through the life course. He co-edits a scientific periodical - Warsaw Forum of Economic Sociology and teaches management and economics at the Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology.

Sebastian Dyrda

Ph.D. candidate at the Warsaw School of Economics at the Department of Economics; student of Mathematics at the Warsaw University; specializes himself in modeling of macro and microeconomic processes utilizing general equilibrium models; deals with labour economics and social choice theory.

Daniel Gałka

Graduate of the Faculty of Economics and a student of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics at the University of Lublin; interested in regional development matters.

Jan G±ska

Student of Economics at the Warsaw School of Economics and Mathematics at the Warsaw University; Interested in the public choice theory and econometric modeling.

Agnieszka Kamińska

Student of economics at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Warsaw; interested in economic analysis of law and issues related to human capital.

Grzegorz Koloch

Ph.D. candidate at the College of Economic Analyses of Warsaw School of Economics; MA in economic sciences (Warsaw School of Economics, specialization: Economics, Quantitative Methods in Economics and Informational Systems); on going bachelor studies in Mathematics at the Mathematics, Computer Science and Mechanics Department of Warsaw University; research team member of Bureau of Applied Research in the Economic Institute of National Bank of Poland; junior member of teaching in the Econometric Institute of Warsaw School of Economics; deals with econometrics, optimisation methods and statistic decision-making analysis.

Maciej Lis

Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Economics of the Warsaw School of Economics; engaged in the health economy topics, informative issues within economics and econometric modeling.

Jarosław Nazarczuk

Research and didactic worker at the Faculty of the Economic and Regional Policy of the Varmia and Masuria University in Olsztyn; Ph.D. candidate at the Faculty of the European Integration Economics of the University of Gdańsk; within his scientific work deals with development determinants and regional competetiveness, localization and economic growth theories as well as processes and phenomena at the regional level.

Karol Pogorzelski

Ph.D. candidate at the Faculty of Political Economics of Warsaw University and student of Philosophy; interested in Austrian School Economics, economics and science methodology.

Joanna Pospieszyńska-Burzyńska

M.A. in political science; graduate of the Warsaw University; specializes herself in co-ordination of the projects financed within the framework of structural funds; responsible for projects administration and settlement; interested in evaluation issues.

Andrzej Regulski

Student of Economics at the Warsaw School of Economics and Mathematics at the Warsaw University; interested in development economy, regional policy as well as in econometric modeling.

Władysław Marek Saj

Graduate of the Department of Phisics of the Warsaw University, working on numerical simulations in the area of nanooptics; interested in quantitative modeling within economy as well as in creation of computer science tools for data processing and analysis.

Łukasz Skrok

Ph.D. candidate at the faculty of Economics II of Warsaw School of Economics; student of Mathematics at the Warsaw University; interested in economic analyses of social relations, institutional economics and the microeconomic processes modeling.

Kamil Wierus

BA at the Warsaw School of Economics in the fields of Economics and Quantitative Methods in Economics and Information Systems. MA student of the Warsaw School of Economics in Quantitative Methods in Economics and Information Systems. Research interests: economic policy, macroeconomic modeling, financial crises, human capital, economic analysis of crime. At the moment he is working on the construction of a simulation model of the pension under the project iSWORD.
